winter festival 11/11 - come find me!

hello, dearies!

did you by chance receive my missive this past july 2nd? if you did not, you can catch-up here, which includes the link to my youtube podcast interview with the fountain hills chamber of commerce!

as i mentioned during my summer correspondence, this fall has been ramping up to be a busy one for myself and my business. i've joined the fountain hills art league and they immediately elected me their new communications coordinator, a fancy title for submitting press releases to our local newspaper. i've also jumped in to do interim newsletter duties while the board scouts for a new volunteer to lead that, and have become an ad-hoc admin assistant in supporting members of the art league board in general.

this past september i was invited to participate as a local designer for a popular woman's social club here in fountain hills. on wednesday, november 8th, i will be featuring a dress from each of my collections to the members of "friends in the hills" during their luncheon, and accessorizing each with a pair of my vintage button earrings. here is a sneak peek at the three lovely models (and friends in the hills members) who will be taking the catwalk wearing my dresses and earrings:

three days later finds me up in cave creek under my pretty pink tent for the desert foothills library winter festivalwhich will feature holiday art, crafts and baked goods.

this will be my first pop up shop since fountain hills day this past march and i am trying to finally be mindful of less is more with my wares. best laid plans, right? i have been industriously creating desert dwelling creatures and flora ornaments, one-of-a-kind statement collar necklaces, and finally, purse tassels made from leftover dress scraps.

once again i am overestimating how much time i actually have within any given day to create existing and new inventory. it remains to be seen if i am able to fashion a few key chains as well. one of many reasons for you to come up to cave creek on saturday, november 11th from 10 am to 4 pm to see! i also will be donating an item for the winter festival library raffle table. see? yet another reason to come visit.

once the winter festival is wrapped, my next in-person event will be the fountain hills art league "2024 tour d'artistes" march 1, 2, 3 from 10 am - 4 pm.

this annual, self-guided artist studio & gallery tour and sales, will showcase 27 local fountain hills artists. yours truly will be one of those artists featured on the tour map and i hope to see those of you i know and meet those of you i haven't the pleasure of meeting, yet. admission is free and our generous sponsors and visitor donations go to support art projects within our schools. more information about where to find darling dearie will be coming early next year.

finally, i'll raise my pink tent one last time for spring on saturday, march 23, 2024, when i revisit the fountain hills chamber of commerce fountain hills day event.

a quick question before i send this off and get back to creating my winter festival inventory: do i have your current physical mailing address on file?

i've sent pretty save-the-date and winter festival postcards through the usps over the past month to many of you that i do, and will be sending cards for tour d'artistes and fountain hills day in the coming months.

if you would like to be added to this distribution list (and also receive pretty mail in your letterbox) please reply to this newsletter with your physical address or send it to: darling@darlingdearie.com and i will be happy to add you the list.

i look forward to seeing you soon under my pink tent!

xo,

darling
